AboutBack to the roots
Once, Bruce Gilden said, “Shoot who you are!”
I am a freelance photographer from Reunion Island.
Photography allowed me to comprehend and embrace the essence of my inner self.
By trusting my intuition, I capture life surrounding me, to understand my own existence.
By capturing simple everyday moments, I continuously strives to find that extra sentiment in the ordinary.
The pursuit of fulfillment as a photographer is an eternal search of oneself.
I draw inspiration from Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alex Webb, and Sebastiao Salgado.
These photographers master the art of spontaneous capture of moments in the harmony of the composition.
My work is connected to their humanist approach. They put the human as a referent in each of their photographs.
A vision of the world – of their world – and the society that challenges and amuses the photographer as much as the viewer.
This is the way I conceive photography: playing with life surrounding me while questioning it.
Based in Cape Town, South Africa, I have been practicing as an independent photographer for several years now.
Specialized in travel and documentary photography, I explore the African continent for various professional or personal projects.
I recently launched Today-Project, a global photographic project on which I am working for more than two years now.
